The HMS Rotterdam still in the harbour, right at full sea the Lynx is used for logistics

e

During the exercise several hoists were made from the helicopter to the ship and backwards

e
e

First a winchman is lowered to the ship's deck, he helps the others who are hoisted

e
e e

The winchman goes down, the winch operator remains in the Lynx to do his job

ee

ee

Good view inside on the platform, but one of our flights had very low visibility

ee
 ee

The winchman goes up and down again and the pilots keep on training

 ee
e

These actions were also seen in the night, but flashlights were strictly forbidden (Pilots)

Logistics and control, and a view (r) in the control room of the 'steel beach'
e
e
This 'steel beach' can even load tanks, or allow landingboats to bring special forces ashore
e
e

Also heavy material can be taken in like trucks or landingboats

e
e

Personell can be transported in large numbers in the ship, the Lynx enters on the platform again

e
e

The platform control room (l). HMS Rotterdam can be guided by heavy defense systems ! (r)

e
e

In exercise landingboats hit the beach, steel mats are rolled out to bring heavy stuff ashore

e
e

HMS Rotterdam here together with the USS Swift (USA). Back to the deck, the Lynx flies in

    e

e
Pilots on shore prepare for their flight to be hoisted, and this deck-guy has a really tough job !
e
e
He is to bring in the helicopters in a safe way till they 'harpoon' themselves on the deck
e
 ee

'Dancing with the stars....' and also: Time to fly back to Den Helder to MVK De Kooy.
